Many pet parents are surprised to learn that a common driver beyond allergenic response and conditions such as skin and coat problems, fungal infections, chronic ear infections, digestive upset and other idiopathic (unknown) sensitivities may be linked to Candida, also known as Candidiasis, which is caused by Candida albicans.
Candida albicans is a single celled organism that is both a yeast and a fungus in form. While all mammals have naturally occurring yeast that is necessary to support healthy digestive, reproductive and elimination functions, when an animal suffers an immune failure, has taken protracted antibiotics or steroids, has excessive stress response, or there is an interruption in a healthy yeast balance in the body, Candida, or yeast overgrowth, can take root.
Once Candida becomes opportunistic, it can overtake healthy, beneficial bacterial in the body as well as release yeast toxins that destroy not only the remaining critical healthy bacteria, but may also negatively affect neighboring healthy cells, creating a cycle of cell death and yeast overgrowth, often referred to as the "itch-scratch cycle."
Candida overgrowth can produce a variety of symptoms including fungal infection in the throat, mouth, ears, feet, face, under belly, arms, legs, genital areas and in between the paws and skin folds and is commonly accompanied by rash, red inflamed skin, pus and infection, hot spots and hair loss (alopecia).
Candida can also be linked to chronic urinary tract infections, digestive upset, allergies, ringworm, furuncles, nail fungus and a host of heightened environmental sensitivities, making it very difficult to identify and address the actual root cause of discomfort, leaving your pet uncomfortable, and often trapped in a cycle of non-stop biting, itching and scratching.
Candida is frequently misdiagnosed as an allergy and often pets are not diagnosed with yeast overgrowth until Candida is systemic and they present black, dry and flaky skin, or greasy, gritty skin, accompanied by a strong yeast smell.
Once Candida has become systemic, the single celled yeast organism can transform itself into a multi-celled fungal form and produces rhizoids that are able to penetrate your pet's intestinal wall, creating a condition known as Leaky Gut Syndrome (LGS.)
Leaky Gut Syndrome is highly problematic for your pet as it permits bacteria, toxins and undigested food to pass through the intestinal wall directly into the blood stream, causing chronic inflammation, infection and often, allergies.
Candida and Leaky Gut also interrupt nutrient assimilation, robbing your pet of vital nutrition, vitamins, minerals, amino acids, proteins and more which are required for healthy tissues, cells, organs and body system balance. Once Candida becomes systemic, more conditions and diseases can follow, with hypothyroidism as one of the most common.
FUNGUS AMONG US MEAL TOPPER may help provide broad spectrum protection against yeast, infection, pathogen and allergen triggers, may help encourage healthy native gut flora and bacterial balance in the digestive and elimination tracts, may help support balanced adaptogenic immune response (up regulated or down regulated response as needed), may help support proper intestinal lining and collagen production, may help promote cellular protection against unhealthy cellular mutagenics (cell damage and death), may help encourage nutrient assimilation, may help regulate excessive mucous production, may help reduce food and environmental sensitivities and may help support healthy skin and coat.
Along with supplementation, removing Candida takes time, patience and vigilant attention to a premium holistic diet, filtered water and environmental conditions. It is normal for Candida to take months before it can be fully resolved but when you have your dog or cat back, the time spent is worth the wait.
Another primary function of FUNGUS AMONG US MEAL TOPPER is to holistically help gently remove conditional responses related to all types of parasitic fungal and bacterial infestations, including ringworm, roundworm, hookworm, whip worm, tapeworm, flatworm, coccidian, protozoa Giardia and Candida as well as for fungal infections and infestation including histoplasmosis, protothecosis, Salmonella, Campylobacter and pathogenic E. coli. Also used holistically to help heal and relieve anal fissures, fistulas and hemorrhoids common with parasite infestations and toxin exposure. (* As recommended by holistic veterinarians for use under a traditional medical system.)
FUNGUS AMONG US MEAL TOPPER is adaptogenic in nature, and can perform dual roles in toning the animal body to help address both symptoms of diarrhea and constipation concurrently while reducing stress on the elimination system.
FUNGUS AMONG US MEAL TOPPER may help relieve chronic constipation, diarrhea, dysentery and dyspeptic syndrome; may help balance native intestinal and gut flora; may help eliminate gas and bloat; may help address "scooting," may help remove intestinal mucous and may help eliminate toxins common to synthetic medications and interventions such asNSAID's, antibiotics, glucosteriods and corticosteroid regimens.
May also help to promote nutrient assimilation (which is especially critical with the use of raw diets); may help benefit the long term health of the intestines, intestinal tract and cardiovascular system as well as may help support electrolyte balance, which is critically important after long term bouts of diarrhea and intestinal imbalance such as Leaky Gut Syndrome (LGS). (* As recommended by holistic veterinarians for use under a traditional medical system)
Other holistic indications may include use to support detoxification following NSAID's and synthetic glucosteriods and corticosteroid regimens and may be useful to help remove synthetic derivatives and inorganic compounds from the cell walls, tissues and organs of your pet; may help function as a gentle liver tonic; may help address conditional needs related to anemia, hepatitis and mild forms of liver damage; may help address conditional needs related to Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD); Intestinal Dysbiosis and Intestinal Hypermerability.(* As recommended by holistic veterinarians for use under a traditional medical system)
RECOMMENDED USE
ALS, Adult, Senior, for yeast issues, for wound healing, for general skin health, for digestive system health, adrenal gland health and immune system health
It is suggested you begin at half dose for 2 weeks and slowly work up the dose to recommended levels. Fungal overgrowth and subsequent removal releases toxins into the bloodstream for elimination.
Detoxification can cause a natural process to occur referred to as microbial die-off. If your pet has acute die off, suggested to reduce dosage by half or take a 7-10 day break to help reset gut health. Strongly suggested to add a pet friendly Probiotic to diet to help address possible microbial die-off due to yeast reduction.
